You are currently in the movie Secret Society of Second-Born Royals, available on Disney+. What was your audition like?
The audition was nerve-wracking! There were a surprising amount of people in the audition room. My dad and I waited for almost 2 hours before I audition. I got to meet a lot of new people in that casting room, which helped calm my nerves, and I got a lot of time to prepare. I was in good shape by the time I had to audition.
Can you tell us about your character Prince Matteo?
Prince Matteo is a super awkward person. He wants to fit in so bad but has a little bit of trouble doing so because he lacks confidence. He is super shy, awkward, kind, and very smart. Throughout the film, he learns what it means to have confidence and to trust in himself and the people around him
Did you do any special training for this role?
Yes! We did a lot of really cool stunt training! We did parkour training and archery. The cast was pretty competitive, so that made everything way more fun. We were always trying to one-up each other.
What superpower would you like to have?
Teleportation! I love the idea of being able to go wherever I want with a snap of my finger. I could go ANYWHERE!! That sounds like so much fun.
You started your career a few years ago. Tell us about what led to you pursuing an acting career.
I’ve always dreamed of being an actor, but I didn’t fully commit to pursuing a career until I was in sixth grade. I heard this program on the radio called CGTV, and that is where my whole career started. I auditioned for CGTV, and through them, I found my manager and agent, which kickstarted my career.
You have mainly done Disney shows and comedies. Would you be drawn by another genre, dramatic or even horrific for example?
I would LOVE to play in another horror film. I played in a horror film called "Nightmare Cinema," directed by Mick Garris, and it was awesome! I would love to play in a slasher film. That is my favorite type of horror movie. That would be a dream come true.
Is there an actor or an actress you would love to work with?
Jake Gyllenhaal! He is such an amazing actor, and he’s so good at those dark creepy roles. It would be insane working with him. I would also like to work with Robert Pattinson. He is an amazing actor, and he is Batman now.
As a viewer, what television series do you follow?
I’ve been following a lot of anime recently! I have just started the "Assassination Classroom," and I am loving it so far! I just finished "Seven Deadly Sins" not too long ago. I watched Kengan Ashura with a friend of mine. I love the creativity that some of these animes have! It is so cool and fun to watch.
You are originally from Madagascar and you live in the United States of America. Have you ever visited other countries?
Yes! I filmed in Canada. I got to visit Toronto and Vancouver. I’ve also been to France to visit family, which was fun! We stayed in Paris for a while, and it was beautiful. I loved the food, and getting to see the Eiffel tower in person was so cool! We crossed the border into Spain, and I was there for a couple of hours! And I have also been to Mexico!
Do you have any new projects underway?
Sadly, due to COVID, It’s a little difficult to speak of any upcoming work, but I am excited for you guys to see what I have in store for all of you in the future!
