Kaylia: French people don't know you very well so let's start with you! What can you tell us about yourself?
Brea Grant: I'm 26 and have been acting professionally for about two years in Los
Angeles. I love sci-fi, comic books, and history. I like the sunshine
in Los Angeles but hate the traffic.
Kaylia: For fans who didn't know, your character in season 3 will be Daphne, a
thief whose power is super-speed and who is involved with Hiro's family. Am
I right?
Brea Grant: Yes. Daphne is a thief who steals an object that has been passed down
in Hiro's family for years. This object is central to Hiro's next
mission.
Kaylia: How is it to work with Masi Oka?
Brea Grant: Great! Masi has been very nice to me and has really helped me to feel
like I'm part of the cast. He's willing to answer all my big questions
and even small questions like, "Where is the coffee again?"
Kaylia: More generally, how were you welcomed on the set by the whole cast and crew?
Brea Grant: Everyone has been great. The cast and crew on Heroes are total pros
and have walked me through all the specifics of the show.
Kaylia: What was your audition for the part like?
Brea Grant: I was very nervous for my auditions (I had more than one). The final
one was with Masi Oka and he is such a giving actor that once I was in
the room, I calmed down a lot. He was so fun to work with that
everything seemed a lot easier.
Kaylia: Do you have any anecdotes to share with us about the shouting?
Brea Grant: The craziest part so far has been to see Daphne's Paris loft for the
first time. It's very cool and full of lots of stolen artifacts. The
best part is that Daphne loves Nikes so her loft was full of really
cool shoes.
Kaylia: In what way is Heroes' shouting different from your previous works such as
FNL or Corpse Run? Special effects maybe?
Brea Grant: Yeah - I've never really worked with special effects so that's very
different for me. Everything is far more technical, like having to
shoot each scene over with a practical effect and then one for
computer effects.
This is also my first time to play a villain!
Kaylia: When the first episode will air in September, you will probably become
really famous. How do you prepare for that?
Brea Grant: Haha. I'm not really sure but now you have me a little worried!
Kaylia: If you could have an actual actress carreer, which would it be?
Brea Grant: Actresses I admire are Angelina Jolie, Reese Witherspoon, Parker Posey
and Julianne Moore (there are so many I love!) - if I could achieve
anything remotely close to what any one of these women has done, I'd
be thrilled.
Kaylia: What do you think of France? Did you ever came here?
Brea Grant: I was there in Paris in 2003 and loved it! I spent a week there but
would have loved to spend a lot more time there. I love history and
walking and those are two things that Paris really catered to.
Kaylia: And the last one... Can you confess one thing that we don't know about
season 3? I swear we won't tell anybody ^^
Brea Grant: Haha. I wish I could! Season Three is called "Villains" so keep that
in mind. That's about all I can say!
