Jane Seymour, de son vrai nom Joyce Penelope Wilhelmina Frankenberg, née le 15 février 1951 à Hayes, est une actrice, productrice et chanteuse anglaise.
Jane passe une partie de son enfance dans la ville de Vught, aux Pays-Bas, où elle apprend à parler le néerlandais.
En 1972 Jane Seymour obtient son premier rôle important à la télévision dans la série anglaise The Onedin Line. L'année d'après elle devient l'intérêt amoureux de James Bond dans Vivre et laisser mourir. Afin de ne pas rester enfermée dans cette catégorie elle débute une carrière aux Etats-Unis. L'actrice prend l'accent américain et devient très prisée des producteurs. En 1988 elle intègre le casting de la série historique War et Remembrance. Cinq ans plus tard elle obtient le rôle principal de Docteur Quinn, femme médecin qui lui vaut une reconnaissance mondiale. En 2004 elle fait un retour remarqué dans Smalville. S'ensuivent alors Modern Men (2006), How i met your mother (2007), Franklin&Bash (2012), Jane the virgin (2015) et Let's Get Physical (2018).
Jane Seymour est productrice depuis 1992. Elle est également une peintre et une chanteuse accomplie.
L'actrice est de plus porte-parole de l'Unicef et ambassadrice de Childhelp USA. Elle est notamment présidente honoraire de City Hearts.
Jane possède à son actif 138 crédits cinématographiques et télévisuels. Elle est attendue cette année dans le long-métrage Friendsgiving.
Elle mesure 1,63m.
Elle a des origines néerlandaises et polonaises, et parle couramment le néerlandais.
En 1999, la reine Elisabeth II la nomme Officier de l'Ordre de l'Empire britannique pour la récompenser de sa carrière d'actrice au Royaume-Uni. Depuis cette même année elle possède son étoile sur le Hollywood Boulevard.
En 2005 elle acquiert la nationalité américaine.
Jane Seymour a trois enfants.
