Flo, your character, was introduced in Pitch Perfect 2. Did you see the first movie before casting ?

Yeah! I actually went to the movie theater to see it. I saw the trailer and knew based on that that it was going to be my kind of movie. The music, the humor, the girl power. I re-watched it before my audition to have it fresh in my mind. It was still just as funny and entertaining as the first time I saw it. The movie holds up.

What do you like the most about this character?

I like that she has a very dry, sarcastic, and often times, dark sense of humor. Flo adds a very different perspective to the group. She is also a go getter. She left everything she knew and came to Barden University to continue her education. I think that is really brave and inspiring. She is a tough cookie!

Pitch Perfect is a pretty crazy comedy with a lot of singing, but it's, first of all, a friendship story. Which actress of the group of Barden Bellas do you have the most affinity in the real life with ?

Oh, I love all my pitches! We have all become really great friends off screen. To the point that we even vacation together. We respect and admire each other and always have each other's backs. Each friendship holds a special place in my heart. Rebel Wilson is probably one of the most generous and supportive people I've ever met. Anna Kendrick is the one person I can always turn to and find is on the same page I'm on. Brittany Snow is one of my best friends. We clicked from the very start. Oh my gosh, I can go on and on about all these girls.

In Pitch Perfect 3, Flo will sing in solo verses and somes original songs. Does that mean that she will be even more present, than in the 2?

Yeah! I am excited that Flo will get to sing more than the bass line in Pitch Perfect 3 (although bass is probably one of the most important parts in a song and I love it!). There are a few times when I get a solo or get to do a fun harmony.  The soundtrack is going to be fun too because we got to extend some of the tracks. That is something that is going to be really fun to check out as well.

What is the hardest to learn for you : choreography, songs or lines ?

I think that would probably be the choreography. Aakomon Jones (AJ) is our brilliant choreographer. The dances in this one have a lot of detail and some very precise formations. All the dances vary in style so that was a bit of a challenge; shifting gears for each one. Also, when you add the acapella to it, it's all sorts of difficult. Most of the time, we have to learn the dance first and the final step is singing along since not always does your part match with the choreography.

As we know, Pitch Perfect 3 will be the ultimate film of the saga. How did you live the last days of filming?

Crying a lot. As I said earlier, we are really great friends and love spending time with each other. It kind of felt like the last day of school. At like a really awesome school where everyone loves each other. I was sad but also grateful to be a part of such a great franchise that inspires so many people. And makes them laugh too.

Are you watching TV musical series, just like Empire or Nashville and would you like to play in one of them?

I love musical shows because it combines the two things I love the most. Of course, that would be fun. How cool would it be to see a Latina singing country music?! Cuban Country! Music is just such a connector. It can really bring people from all walks of life together.

In addition to your acting career, you write, produce and direct in duet with your friend, Cyrina Fiallo. Can you tell us about Temporary, your last mini-series?

Sure! Yeah. Temporary is a digital series that we did with Elizabeth Bank's digital platform for funny women, Whohaha, and Cosmopolitan. It was an incredible experience where we learned so much. It's about two friends (Sam and Lexi) that do not know what they want to do with their lives, so they work at a temp agency to sort of sample jobs. They are extremely co-dependent and kind of clueless so finding the perfect job is not easy. We got to work with some wonderful people and recruited some of our insanely talented friend like Brittany Snow and Elizabeth Henstridge to be a part of it. We wrote, created, and produced the four episodes that you can find on whohaha.com.

Do you have any other projects for 2018?

I have been writing and developing some things that will hopefully go in 2018. I really think that if you want more representation of women and Latinos on TV, you have to take matters into your own hands. I am really excited to also get behind the camera and contribute in this way as well.

Have you ever been in France and what would you like to tell your french fans?

I have only been once and I loved every second. I went to Paris and it was beautiful. I actually have a picture of me in front of the Eiffel Tower on my nightstand. It's the last thing I see at night and the first thing I see in the morning. I liked to tell my French fans that they are amazing. So strong and creative. I see you on twitter! Hopefully I will get to see you in person and visit your beautiful country soon. Merci!
