In France, we know you as Jesse Wells, Harrison’s daughter on Earth Two, who was introduced in the season 2 of The Flash, The CW hit TV series. What was it like to start your career with this big of a show ? Was it stressful ?
Working on The Flash was an amazing introduction to the film industry and Jesse was the perfect character to dive into. By season 2, the show had already found it's rhythm, so I was able to trust the crew and cast and focus my attention on developing Jesse. On my very first day I was terrified, but thankfully I was working with Tom Cavanaugh, who was extremely helpful whether he knew it or not.
Before The Flash, were you interested in the DC Comics universe ?
As a kid, I never grew up reading comic books but the little I did know I enjoyed. I didn't actually know who I would be portraying when I auditioned but when I found out it was Jesse, I immediately went to a bookstore and picked up everything I could find.
What a change in season 3... Jesse comes back to Earth One with the same powers as Barry, and she becomes Jesse Quick. So now you can act in action scenes, and of course… the costume. How do you feel about playing in that iconic costume ?
Putting on the suit was the most amazing feeling of the entire experience. When I booked the role, I thought she would start with powers, so I had been waiting as long as the fans had.
If you had a super-power, which one would you choose ?
Shapeshifting! Not only into people and animals but inanimate objects as well !
Recently, you played on a documentary called “Tower”, which relates the real story of the shooting on August 1st, 1966 at the University of Texas at Austin. It’s a very special character because you play Claire Wilson, a survivor who was 8 months pregnant. How did you prepare for this role ?
Before actors were even introduced to the project, our director Keith Maitland conducted on camera interviews with many of the survivors and witnesses. I was able to watch these videos to get a sense of Claire and how she felt about the whole occurrence, and eventually was able to meet her.
Besides acting, what other plans do you have for the next few months ?
I'll be doing a few comic conventions in the next couple months which are really fun because I get to meet the fans and talk with them about their favorite parts of the show. Not only do I get to meet the fans but I also get to travel to new places I've never been to before !
Do you watch TV shows? If yes, which one would you love to act on ?
My all-time favorite show is Orphan Black. I'm really into sci-fi and dystopian/futuristic, so I was a fan of this show from the beginning. I've never seen anything more impressive from what Tatiana Maslany does in that show, and I actually got to meet her last year at San Diego Comic Con but don't worry, I played it cool :)
Last question we always ask on our interviews, have you ever been in France ? And do you have something to tell your French fans ?
I have ! I've been to Paris twice now and I've got a cousin who lives on a pig farm outside of Burgundy. This sounds super cliche but I loved just sitting by the Eiffel Tower at night with friends and watch when the lights started to flicker, it was so beautiful. I feel like I could've sat there for days! I just want to say thank you for being fans and watching the show and also bringing good energy into the world !
