Teri Garr, née le 11 décembre 1947 dans l'Ohio aux USA, est une actrice américaine. Elle est décédée le 29 octobre 2024 à Los Angeles en Californie (USA). 

Enfance

Ses parents sont Eddie Garr acteur également et Phyllis Garr, costumière. Son père était d'origine irlandaise. Ses grands-parents maternels, Louis J. Schmotzer et Theresa Gundel, étaient des immigrants autrichiens. Elle a deux frères : Edward Jr. et Phillip.
Elle a passé son enfance dans le New Jersey. Elle était élève du Stella Alder studio of acting.

Carrière

Suite à sa performance dans une publicité, Steven Spielberg l'engage pour Rencontres du troisième type en 1977. Par la suite, on a pu la voir dans L'étalon noir, en 1979 et Tootsie en 1982.

Vie privée

Elle a été mariée à John O'Neil, lui aussi acteur, du 11 novembre 1993 à 1996. Ensemble, ils ont adopté une fille, Molly O'Neil, le 11 novembre 1993.

En 1983, il lui a été diagnostiqué une sclérose en plaques. Elle est ambassadrice de la National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
